FAQ
Please ask questions here and I will do my best to answer them.
When is your departure? Where are you starting?
March 31st, 2008 to Dublin, Ireland
How long is your trip?
There is no set return date. I am shooting for roughly a year.
Who are you going with?
I am starting this trip with Nathan Buhr(http://whereisnate.wordpress.com) and Gene Liang(http://genetogo.wordpress.com). We will most likely stick together throughout the European portion of the trip and then split off from there.
Why are you doing this?
Why not?
What are you taking?
I have a list of my items here.
Where are you going?
The simple answer is everywhere. The realistic and current situation is that I have no concrete plan. A more ideally outlined response to that question is I am starting out in Ireland in April. I will visit the rest of UK before heading to mainland Europe entering via France. From there I will head east towards Brussels and travel Europe clockwise. I plan to end up in Spain around July to participate in the San Fermin Festival and the Running of the Bulls. The African portion of the trip will immediately follow as I jump over to Morocco. I plan on going to Egypt, Jordan, Tanzania, South Africa, and then Dubai. India and SE Asia will be next. I would like to spend more time in China as I will have more situated living arrangements. I would like to do New Years in Bangkok, but that is just a thought for now. Around January I plan to head to Australia and then New Zealand towards the end of February. After New Zealand I plan to fly back around to South America. I think I will be pretty interesting to see how the actual trip mirrors this ideal scenario I’ve just typed up.
Which city, thus far, has been the most scenic and which has had the most interesting architecture??
Most scenic: Paris, France (answered on 8 May 2008). There are some many areas that distinctly portray the city of Paris; the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Sacré-Cœur, Notre Dame, etc
Most interesting architecture: Edinburgh, Scotland (answered on 8 May 2008) Edinburgh has so much historic architecture and they are so close to one another. It seems like I can stand in the middle of the city and view several buildings all with various architecture all at once.
When are you coming back?
no idea.
Question: Which city, thus far, has been the most scenic and which has had the most interesting architecture??
Which city/country could you see yourself living in???? And which country would you recommend people visit?
Question: Did you guesstimate how much this would cost? Can you give me a ball park idea so maybe I can do something like this myself.
Hope you continue having a blast!.
