There is a ridge about an hour’s hike from our cottage down a rocky path. The ridge is called Dolphin’s Nose because the view point looks like a dolphin’s nose. The view from there is amazing and I usually try to check it out around sunset or sunrise. There is a Swiss girl that lives alone in cottage on the way there that has a guitar and sometimes I’ll stop by to jam with her.

The view is absolutely amazing and it along with exploring the wilderness around our cottage is one of my favorite things to do. The day before we all leave our cottage I wake up at 5am to try to catch the sunrise, something I’ve yet to do. The night before all the girls showed interest in checking it out. But when the time came everyone backed out, but Christine, who decided to do the hike down in her Converse All Stars.

The hike down is pretty dangerous in the dark. The rocks are pretty loose and with little day light really hard to navigate. During the hike, a neighborhood dog follows us down. As I take the lead, I hear a sudden scream, the sound of falling rocks and then hysterical laughter. I quickly run back to find Christine has fallen and can’t get up. Our canine companion is jumping all over her in full doggy saliva attack mode.

The darkness slowly lightens from dark blue to purple to orange and finally to daylight. The sunrise was amazing and we chill there until I start to get really hungry for breakfast. The hike back is all uphill and takes much longer than going down. By the time I get back I am starving, but luckily the girls are awake and breakfast is ready. Today is our final day in our cottage as everyone is going their separate ways.
